What an interesting story! I "discovered" you when you did a talk at Pomperaug Woods in Southbury a couple years ago and have been a fan ever since. You talked about the book you were working on then, so I'm looking forward to getting it now. Shooting to see you at Hickory Stick!
Many moons ago our group the Book GEACS c2006 (Gail Emily Ann Chrisy Sue) chatted w you at your Halliday-Feriday book signing/talk + it is one of our absolute favorite experiences together! I hope we get to see you again in Fairfield or Darien, the closest cities to our homes in Westchester! Can't wait for the book, too. ❤️
Love this! My book club is reading the book together the first week of June while we’re in Martha’s Vineyard, so we clearly need to add a visit to a Bunch of Grapes to our itinerary!

I will be at RJ Julia Booksellets on May 30. I would be thrilled to keep my eye on your ice and will have a lovely linen towel embroidered with lilacs or sunflowers or roses. I’m still awed these books are all somehow family connected. What an awesome history you are keeping alive. Write from what you know I used to advise my students.
That would be great! I would suggest Tattered Cover or Denver Public Library. Tattered Cover was recently bought out so maybe another independent book store.
I’ll be at your Fairfield launch! ⛱️📚
I love this post! I’d never heard of Gertrude and now, in true history-nerd style, I want to go and find out more about her!
She was amazing!🩵
I love this story! I didn't see Bloomington, Illinois on your list of scrumptious cities to visit. Was that an oversight?! 😁
LOL. I wish, Vicki!

Hi Marianne! I love those Pomperaug Woods events. Hopefully I’ll see you at the Hickory Stick event at the Gunn Library—and I hope you like the book!

And my sister Valerie will be attending with me! I saw you a few years ago Martha, at the Pequot Library in Fairfield. It was a fun event!

For sure! So excited to see how you like it—the book AND the Vineyard!

My book club would love it if you could make a stop in Denver! We have read all of your books and are looking forward to reading your new one.
I would love that. Hopefully for the paperback tour!
